Bangkok is a city full of taste experiences and food sensations. Apart from renowned Thai cuisine with its blend of spicy, sour, sweet and salty, there's also every other national dish from every country to be found. Dining options are as unpredictable as some of the dishes. Great value food courts, riverside bar-restaurants, Thai style dining in teak pavilions, air-conditioned fine dining or brand fast food chains - Bangkok offers a total food experience.
Largest restaurant
There is, for instance, the Royal Dragon Restaurant, billed as the biggest in the world at 3.5 hectares. It is a complex of structures built in the manner of ancient Chinese architecture. In humid weather, customers dine al fresco in what looks like a central courtyard, with live performances on a stage. During a downpour, tarpaulin coverings are rolled up, or you may transfer into one of those glass-walled rooms that can instantly transform into a videoke lounge. The resto can seat 5,000 diners, served by a staff of 1,200. Waitresses and waiters in ancient Chinese costumes have to roller-skate around to bring the food piping hot to your table.
Sala Rim Naam
Housed in a richly decorated Thai pavilion, originating from Northern Thailand, the restaurant is also the setting for one of the kingdom’s unique cultural experiences - classical Thai dancing, performed before your table every night. It’s the perfect accompaniment to such lavish cuisine.
